Being ‘in love’…
The Lord has told me today that I will never be ‘in love’ again…
That sounds strange you might say…
But I won’t because being ‘in love’ is carnal – this is what He told me…
What? What are you saying Andrew…
Being ‘in love’ is carnal – this is what He said and He gave me the understanding that when I was ‘in love’ with my wife – when we first met – ‘it’ was broken the first time she broke my heart…
This proves that it is carnal (it is conditional) – it is based on finding this ‘perfect’ human being who will never hurt you, always understand or ‘get’ you and never do anything to you that would not delight or thrill or whatever other word ( 🙂 ) you…
You get my point…
Love is from God…
Being ‘in love’ is carnal…
I will love my wife – I have chosen to do this – this has nothing to do with how many times she has broken my heart (I’m not saying I haven’t broken hers either – I’m just using that by way of example) – this is a choice which I have made in my will – controlled by the Holy Spirit – not in striving – to love my wife…
You get my point…
There is no ‘perfect person’ out there for you (if you are single) – there is a person out there for you who the Lord has chosen you to marry – if He has planned marriage for you – and if you wait for Him He will bring that person to you – but do not confuse the ‘in love’ feeling you have for that person with God’s Love – God’s Love will serve that person through you for the rest of your life (whatever happens to them – disfigurement, etc) irrespective of what they do to you…
That is God’s Love – if you don’t have that (or an assurance that you will have that in the case of disfigurement or loss of physical beauty) for that imperfect person then you shouldn’t marry them (I didn’t have it when I married my wife – the disfigurement thing – I believe I do now – in His grace alone – Thank You Jesus) – because ‘it’ the feeling of being ‘in love’ – won’t last – it won’t carry you – only God’s Love – His Unconditional (Forgiving) Love (nothing in it for you) – will…
Cos we all hurt each other – that’s life (after the fall) – and we all need to forgive each other to survive and not get ‘eaten up’ by the tormentors (the demons who go around and inhabit un-forgiveness and bitterness bringing disease and sickness with them)…
I know this to be true – I have been battling with this this morning…
And the Lord has pulled me through with some strong intervention…
It’s good when we don’t try – don’t try to help Him just ‘lay back’ and let Him overcome on our behalf…
This is what comes from it – revelation – revelation and freedom…
Being ‘in love’ is of the flesh…
Father, the truth is that this has been a real struggle for me, I am a hopeless romantic… You know this – You know my heart and I have surrendered to Your word – but what does it mean in Song of Songs where the beloved was love sick – her heart was love sick, what does this mean? What does this mean – if we are just slaves who do what You say – and love whomever You tell us to love – what does this mean (do we ignore our feelings? – we give our feelings up to You) – this scripture about being love sick – what sort of love was being referred to here? Not agape love obviously – agape love just loves whoever whenever – what sort of love was being referred to in Song of Songs? What does this mean? Open my eyes and let me see, give me patience to learn from You – show me Your Love for me, should I be love sick – in the spiritual sense – towards You? Yes, whom having not seen you love and I guess we long for Him – Jesus – to come for us and take us to be with Himself – so I guess in a way we are love sick for Jesus – in the spiritual sense – but is it possible to be love sick for another human being? Well, I’m not asking if it’s possible – obviously it’s possible – but what I’m asking is, “Is it carnal to be love sick for another human being?” It’s carnal to be ‘in love’ so is it also carnal to be love sick (I don’t believe it is – I believe the beloveds love sickness was righteous – that’s what I believe – am I right Lord?)?
