Rebellion…

A rebellious man seeks only evil, So a cruel messenger will be sent against him. (Proverbs 17:11 NASB)

As I woke up this morning and lay in bed (I’m still on holiday here in New Zealand) the Lord spoke to me about rebellion…

We’re going through a shift – a house shift – at present…

The Lord has been leading – we’ve got most of our “stuff” in our oldest daughter’s garage and the rest is going to my sister’s garage tomorrow – we’ve got to be out of our rental by the end of Sunday (New Zealand time) – we’re “on-track”…

We haven’t got a house to go to at present…

We’re “house sitting” at my sister’s while they’re on holiday…

The Lord has been involved all the way through and I know that we’re sitting “in” His will – we have peace…

But “where to” from here?

The temptation is there to try to “make something happen”…

And the Lord spoke to me about rebellion…

The “voices” around us all have their “opinions”…

But we must move in the Lord’s peace – neither my wife nor myself have had a peace as yet that the Lord has revealed where specifically we are to live…

This is quite “disconcerting”…

As the children – our two boys – have a need to have an address before they can be enrolled in school…

The Lord said to me that He would give us an “in-between” place – which has turned out to be my sister’s place – which was offered to us without us asking for it (Praise You Jesus)…

We’ve also been blessed by my sister’s husband’s trailer to do the shifting which was also offered to us – and because the owner is selling the house we’re in we don’t have to clean the carpets as they’re being replaced – Thank You Jesus – so we’ve seen the Lord’s provision to date…

The temptation is still there to “make something happen”…

So again the Lord spoke to me about rebellion…

We blame the fear of man – “what is everyone thinking?” – “they must think we’re stupid” – these thoughts which come – but the Lord showed me this morning that the fear of man is an “excuse” or a façade or a “hiding place” for the spirit of rebellion…

At the end of the day what does the Lord say?

The Lord says to wait…

He gave me – a few weeks back – Moses at the Red Sea – the Egyptian army coming towards him and the Red Sea in front of him – and Moses waited on God…

Then He reminded me of Jesus when He began to hunger (starvation setting in) after fasting forty days and forty nights and Jesus didn’t “grab” for Himself…

So I continue to wait – I just need a peace from the Lord as to what we are meant to do…

Rebellion wants our own way…

And is the root of everything we do which is not pleasing to God…

Either we can go our own way – and try to “make things happen” or we can go God’s way and die – “What do You want Lord?” – “What are You going to do Lord?” – and this is what I have chosen…

When we got back to Christchurch just over three years ago our children missed the first week of school because we hadn’t been able to find a place – that was a very stressful situation – this time we’ve known the peace of the Lord…

But “where to” from here?

I have had “a vision” on my heart but I need to “wait” for the Lord to fulfil it…

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 NASB)

The Lord showed me that surrender to whatever He wants to do – whether you know what this is or whether you don’t – just surrender to it – is seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness – and as we do this everything else which we need is added to it – everything which we need to fulfil His will is added to us – it is a surrender which promises the provision to do His will…

That’s the “catch” – it’s a surrender – an unconditional surrender to do His will – not our ideas – but His will – which brings the release of the provision – the financial provision even – of God into our lives to complete His will – first vision – then provision (that just came to my mind – I might have heard that somewhere before possibly – I think so)…

God provides when we “cease”…

Otherwise we have to strive to provide and this causes control and pain and all that other stuff I’ve experienced in the past…

I don’t want that anymore – I want the Lord…

🙂

Lord, I commit our family to You – I commit our “next move” to You…

Your will be done for our family on earth as it is in heaven…

Glorify Your Name in all the earth…

About andrew james horton

Hi, my name is Andrew James Horton... I am a Kiwi (New Zealander), born in Christchurch (05 September 1971), now in my early fifties... I am blessed to be married with five children and six grandchildren... :-) I am at present a Principal Structural Engineer, Director living in Christchurch, New Zealand... I am passionate about prophetic intercession and about revival both in New Zealand and throughout the world... I am passionate to pray that the Church, the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, will be all that He - the Lord Jesus Christ - desires her to be in our generation... Back in early September 2010 I felt that the Lord gave me the name of this blog site, "a house of prayer for the nations - prophetic intercession for worldwide revival" and wanted me to "put it out there" and start recording the prayers which were on my heart to pray in the hope that others would also be encouraged to share the prayers which were on their hearts to pray and that in the unity of the Spirit we could participate together in this activity in different locations around the world as He led us... If the Lord leads you, let's join together in prayer for the Lord's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven in our generation... Love to All, Andrew
