Rejection (Part 2)…

I have never handled rejection very well…

Especially after I’ve had a close relationship with someone…

To be rejected really tests the authenticity of your love for them…

When the Lord says, “Go love them again” – like He did to Hosea with Gomer – how do you respond?

They’ve broken your heart and the Lord says, “Go love them again”…

How did Hosea do it?

I’ve experienced having my heart broken and being crushed by someone close to me…

Last night the Lord said to me (in so many words), “Go love them again”…

And the challenge is to love them even if they never receive you and even if you wait years for them to come back to you…

The Lord waited with this sort of patience for Israel to return to Him…

A new Israel did return to Him – the ‘upper room’ Israel who were filled with His Holy Spirit and then ‘they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel’ were gathered to Him and are still being gathered to Him – a new Bride to replace the divorced Bride but in reality making those from Israel and those from the Gentiles who believe into one new Israel – the saints from all the nations and from all time as the word of God has said…

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; (Romans 9:6 NASB)

Psalm 78 shows how God so graciously dealt with Israel in the desert…

But they deceived Him with their mouth And lied to Him with their tongue.

For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.

But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.

Thus He remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passes and does not return.

How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness And grieved Him in the desert!

Again and again they tempted God, And pained the Holy One of Israel.

They did not remember His power, The day when He redeemed them from the adversary,

When He performed His signs in Egypt And His marvels in the field of Zoan,

And turned their rivers to blood, And their streams, they could not drink.

(Psalm 78:36-44 NASB – emphasis added)

I read that just now before completing this post…

And Gomer did to Hosea exactly the same thing…

What was wrong with Hosea?  What did he do wrong?  Why did He deserve this treatment?

He didn’t…

He was a sign, he was a symbol of God’s Love to wayward Israel…

And we – His Intercessors on this earth – when we are rejected and spurned – are an example of God’s Love to His wayward Church – for really – after all these years – nothing has changed…

And it amazed me when I heard God saying to me, “Go and love them again”…

I will never forget that…

‘How can I invest more than I have already invested?’

‘How can I do any more?’

This is what I’ve been thinking but He is carrying me and carrying me to invest and to continue to invest even if I am never received…

How can I do this?

I can’t…

Only He can but He is carrying me so it is happening naturally in me to do this…

To go as deep as it is possible to go and to smash rejection once and for all in His Church through this ‘Hosea/Gomer’ situation which I’m in…

I will – go all the way – I will – smash it…

Once and for all…

Rejection is only smashed or beaten or removed through a decision to love even if you are never received…

It is this – this decision – which smashes rejection – it is this level – this level of persistent unconditional love which will not give up no matter what – which isn’t waiting for the other party to change and enduring until they do but will endure in spite of what they do – it is this level of persistent love which smashes every form of rejection – it – rejection – has no answer for this – it is defeated – and this is the type of love which God has for His new Israel – from Israel and from the Gentiles – His Saints – His Church…

And even if resisted on earth He will show us – His Church – His Love for eternity in His Presence – “Today you will be with Me in Paradise”…

About andrew james horton

Hi, my name is Andrew James Horton... I am a Kiwi (New Zealander), born in Christchurch (05 September 1971), now in my early fifties... I am blessed to be married with five children and six grandchildren... :-) I am at present a Principal Structural Engineer, Director living in Christchurch, New Zealand... I am passionate about prophetic intercession and about revival both in New Zealand and throughout the world... I am passionate to pray that the Church, the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, will be all that He - the Lord Jesus Christ - desires her to be in our generation... Back in early September 2010 I felt that the Lord gave me the name of this blog site, "a house of prayer for the nations - prophetic intercession for worldwide revival" and wanted me to "put it out there" and start recording the prayers which were on my heart to pray in the hope that others would also be encouraged to share the prayers which were on their hearts to pray and that in the unity of the Spirit we could participate together in this activity in different locations around the world as He led us... If the Lord leads you, let's join together in prayer for the Lord's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven in our generation... Love to All, Andrew
