I feel to post on this today…

I have been walking through it…

It appears never ending…

The fall was a terrible thing…

We just don’t realise how terrible it was until the Lord starts undoing it in us…

We are all control freaks…

I used to think that it was just certain individuals who were control freaks – the ones who you feel so strongly when they come into contact with you – you feel their vibe…

But it’s not just them – it’s me too…

It’s everyone…

Everyone who hasn’t been completely crucified and doesn’t have Christ living through them 100% of the time…

Think about that…

That’s everyone in the world today…

So the world is filled – to varying degrees – with control…

The opposite of being filled with the Spirit…

Freedom and letting go in the Spirit…

Taking control, worry, fear, anxiety, depression, despondency in the flesh…

Depressing – even mentioning those words is depressing – it makes me feel heavy in my spirit…

I feel the joy returning…

Submission to Christ – submission to Christ brings freedom from control…

Yes it does…

I’m starting to smile…

As we submit He floods in His joy…

As we let go of trying to make happen the things He tells us – yes, the things He tells us – we start to experience Him living through us – and we see that everything happens in His time…

He waits for us to be ready – He told me this in Fiji last year and again earlier this year when I was up North in Palmerston North…

And because He is patiently waiting for me I can patiently wait for others…

I’m thinking of someone in particular as I type – it is only loving that I wait for this person to be ready – Christ is waiting for me…

And so we see that all control must die…

Any effort which we are making to make happen what the Lord has told us He will do must die…

Why?

Because the arm of flesh will always fail…

Yes, but there’s more…

Because only His way is Eternal Life…

There is no Eternal Life in trying to figure it out and make it happen…

Nothing but stress and unrest and striving and – it is tormenting…

I’ve just started to see that…

We weren’t made to live under that continual pressure…

We just weren’t…

We were made to be free…

To trust…

To just accept God’s word for it…

Not to check up on Him and make sure He’s on track…

Just to accept God’s word for it and get on…

Not to second guess…

Not to have a plan B…

Nothing…

Just accept and live…

Even if that living is completely blind…

Even if it feels that you’ve locked yourself away in a world where there is no return…

Just to believe Him and trust Him and let Him bring to you the answer which He has promised you…

He will – and you will rejoice and you will know that it is supernatural and you will see His Hand and you will marvel and this will fulfil you like nothing else can…

Nothing – there is no joy when you cajole and then get what you want…

None – I’ve experienced it over and over – there is no joy in manipulation – even in seduction there is no joy – in manipulation or flattery – nothing like this works…

It really doesn’t…

It is empty…

None of us can wait in our flesh…

We are incapable…

We sacrificed this joy when we rebelled at the fall…

We can only get it back when we give up our stolen lives…

Yes, stolen…

None of us has a right to live on this earth…

Did you know that?

Because of our sin we are all born objects of wrath…

Deserving hell…

But He saved us – those of us who know Him – but this means that we are no longer our own…

Practically this means that we have no say in what happens to us – we are His – we are not to defend ourselves – we are not to protect ourselves – we are to let it all go and trust Him…

This is the loss of control – He honours this…

I am doing this – I am going to the end of it in my life – for I have seen that at the end of it is freedom – freedom for the rest of my life and on into eternity…

Join me in this journey – to the end of control and on into freedom…
