Confession (Part 3)…

I woke up this morning with a clear understanding brought to my mind by the Holy Spirit…

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood– (Revelation 1:5 NASB)

Released…

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (James 1:5 NASB)

Healed…

Then I came in to work and saw some of the posts which had been viewed on this blog over the weekend…

Someone had viewed something I wrote on 1 John 1:7 – that really brought the whole thing together for me – gave me that “extra witness” that I needed to really solidify this for me…

but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7 NASB)

Cleansed…

The Blood released (past tense) us, that’s all of us who have been born again, from our sins, that’s “a given”, those sins are no longer ours (Praise the Lord), we are a new creation… 🙂

The Blood will cleanse us (present tense) from all sin as we confess our sins to one another and pray for one another (present tense), i.e. the Blood will heal us as we walk in the light with our brothers and sisters – this is practical (this is something we get to experience the joy of as it practically occurs for us – being practically healed from the practice of, the slavery to, sin – in our daily lives – moment by moment)…

This is the “missing link” in Christianity… 🙂

We have one group today who would say, “we are new creations we don’t need to confess our sins at all”…

We have another group who would say, “unless you confess your sins to the priest you aren’t saved at all or can lose your salvation”…

Jesus, when He washed His disciples feet, covered both of the above beautifully…

Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. So He came to Simon Peter. He said to Him, “Lord, do You wash my feet?” Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter.” Peter said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.” Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.” So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? “You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. “If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. “For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. “Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. “If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them. “I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have chosen; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘HE WHO EATS MY BREAD HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.’ “From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.” (John 13:5-20 NASB)

You are already clean…

As we are…

But still He needs to wash our feet and He’s leaving us an example to be ministers – servants – who can be available to wash our brother and sister’s feet – to see removed from them – practically – what has been practically removed from us…

Nothing more…

We have no authority in anything more than what we’ve had practically removed from ourselves…

We’re all in this “level playing field”…

But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. (Galatians 3:22 NASB)

We all have sins – besetting sins – which we need to confess to our brothers and sisters – so that we can be healed – we just need to confess them – that’s all – we don’t need to try and “sort them out”, “try harder”, “resist harder”, “forget about them”, “focus on something else”, “fast them”, “practice self control”, “avoid them” – when they are in our hearts they are still functioning – there’s no fooling God – He knows when they are still functioning…

The only thing is to completely “give up” and admit defeat…

But the good thing is when we do this – in front of our brothers and sisters – we are released…

We are healed…

And the Blood of Jesus – God’s Son – cleanses us from all sin…

There isn’t any other way…

God doesn’t want any “prima donnas” in the Kingdom…

He puts things exactly as they are…

He choses us…

He makes us what we are…

There is nothing in us which makes us what we are…

He created our new selves…

He gave us all the gifts we have…

We are nothing without Him…

Nothing…

We can’t even breathe without Him…

We can’t even stop ourselves having a heart attack without Him…

We really are nothing without Him…

He raises us up…

Just like Bezalel and Oholiab…

Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship. And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all who are skillful I have put skill, that they may make all that I have commanded you: (Exodus 31:1-6 NASB)

I have filled him with the Spirit of God…

And in the hearts of all who are skilful I have put skill…

He gave some to be…

So whatever our place is we are nothing without Him…

He doesn’t care about our sin in that sense…

Our callings and our giftings are set by His Grace…

Doesn’t mean we haven’t got a lot of sin which needs confessing to our brothers and sisters…

But we see how Jesus gets down on His Hands and Knees and wipes our feet…

Every time the Lord has called me to confess He has enabled me with His Peace…

He has carried me in my confession…

What will people think of me?

But my question is now becoming, “What will God think of me?”…

If I resist His Holy Spirit I resist His will for my life – why would I want to do this?

It is easier to surrender to His will – and it will be less messy to do so…

He really does have the right to do with us – His People – whatever He wants to – He bought us – we are His slaves – we are slaves to Righteousness – to Him – He owns us – if we refuse to do what He commands us to do then there really isn’t any point for us to be here – this is where it’s at for me at present – we are just to wait for Him to create in us the desire to confess or the desire to obey or the desire to do this or that and as we wait we see Him “coming through” for us to create these desires – these motivations which have “legs” – to actually complete what He’s wanting us to do – His commands are not burdensome – because we’re waiting on Him – if His commands are burdensome then I suggest that you are trying in your own strength to fulfil them and not “resting” in His and awaiting His timing – if you can’t do it right now – wait…

He will come through – He is Sovereign in all things…

Moses went up the mountain to meet with God – he waited in the cloud for six days for God to speak to him…

Would we have gotten bored by then?

Moses didn’t…

The first thing God told him (after six days of waiting) was…

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution. (Exodus 25:1-2 NASB)

Every man whose heart moves him…

Does your heart move you?  Not your conscience, not guilt, not knowing that you should or feeling terrible that you don’t…

Does your heart move you?

Only God can do this…

Only God can put on the heart of his Bezalel’s and Oholiab’s what He wants to do so that our hearts move us to act as He is leading us…

It’s either there or its not…

This is all that God requires…

Standing ready and then performing when He releases His Anointing – His Motivation – His Divine Motivation – to us…

Love you all,

Andrew

About andrew james horton

Hi, my name is Andrew James Horton... I am a Kiwi (New Zealander), born in Christchurch (05 September 1971), now in my early fifties... I am blessed to be married with five children and six grandchildren... :-) I am at present a Principal Structural Engineer, Director living in Christchurch, New Zealand... I am passionate about prophetic intercession and about revival both in New Zealand and throughout the world... I am passionate to pray that the Church, the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, will be all that He - the Lord Jesus Christ - desires her to be in our generation... Back in early September 2010 I felt that the Lord gave me the name of this blog site, "a house of prayer for the nations - prophetic intercession for worldwide revival" and wanted me to "put it out there" and start recording the prayers which were on my heart to pray in the hope that others would also be encouraged to share the prayers which were on their hearts to pray and that in the unity of the Spirit we could participate together in this activity in different locations around the world as He led us... If the Lord leads you, let's join together in prayer for the Lord's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven in our generation... Love to All, Andrew

1 Response to Confession (Part 3)…

  1. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. (James 2:10 NASB)

Father, in Jesus Name, covered with the Blood of Jesus I come today to admit my sin – I am standing as Adam – on behalf of the world that they might be saved by Your Blood as I have been…

I am not coming to ask forgiveness (legal forgiveness) – I am already forgiven (legally) – but I am coming to ask for the healing which Your word speaks of – the healing of my being (our beings) and also the healing of our lands (where our behaviour changes and righteousness flows out from us) – the lands of every nation in this world (which You gave to man) – I am looking for a woman to agree with me in this prayer and to stand as Eve for the salvation of this world – the salvation which You promise in Your word when Your people who are called by Your Name humble themselves and pray…

Father, in Jesus Name, I chose the woman You gave me as a gift over You – I chose independence from You – becoming my own boss – to keep the woman (the gift) which You gave me and I was wrong – I went astray – I became polluted and I produced on this earth all manner of wickedness…

I produced homosexuality, I produced bestiality, I produced rape, I produced paedophilia, I produced masturbation, I produced selfishness of every kind (of which the above are just a few), I worshipped demons and I worshipped the devil…

I slept with the dead, I cohorted with the devil, I feared men, I let my wife dominate me, I gave her what she wanted because I wanted to have sex with her, I did not stand as the man in my family, I did not train up my children under me to be pleasing to You, I did not put my wife first, I did not put my children second, I did not provide for my own, I provided for myself, I became corrupt, I slept with demons, I sacrificed my children to the dead, I worshipped demons and feared them, I practiced and encouraged witchcraft, I made love to everything of beauty which I set my eyes on, I restrained myself from no pleasure known to man and even those pleasures which are too evil to be uttered I restrained myself not from those pleasures – I became completely corrupt – to the point where you removed me from this earth (in the flood), I restrained myself not from evil – I am guilty of it all – and I am the perpetrator of it all…

I delighted in evil (I laughed at jokes originated by demons)…

I am sorry Lord – I have been possessed by demons and a play thing for them – I am sorry Lord…

    I am undone…

There is nothing in me – in my flesh (sin which dwells in me) which desires You or to please You – I have no faith in my flesh (sin which dwells in me) – I have nothing which pleases You or wants to submit to You – nothing…

I have nothing which wants to glorify You or even speak truthfully before You – nothing which wants to magnify You or Your other-centred love…

I have given that I might receive not because I have other-centred affection for others – in my pride I have shown-off my righteousness (self-made righteousness) to others, I have been racist, I have been a slaver-trade, I have used everyone who has come into contact with me – used them for my own ends and purposes – I have treated no one with the respect You require – the other-centred (give with no intention of receiving anything in return) love which You display and personify through Your Son, Jesus Christ…

    I am undone…

    I repent…

I repent for all that I have become…

I confess my sin (the sin of my flesh – sin which dwells within me) before all – I am undone…

    I cannot do better…

    I cannot improve…

I will never be anything other than what I am today (in my flesh – sin which dwells in me)…

I am wrong Father (in my flesh) and You are right…

The new self You gave me is perfect and that is what I am to You but I confess my flesh today – I have experienced all that I write of above in my heart – I know that I am guilty – I am practically guilty of some of these things also but know from Your word that I am actually guilty of it all as I am Adam to You and I stand responsible for the sin of the whole world…

Jesus (the second Adam) paid for all my sin and I raise it up to Him today and I say, “Lord, forgive the sin of the world”…

Forgive our sin and set us free – all of us – Your Blood paid for us all – we are all guilty in our flesh – give each and every one of Your children the new self which they have been promised in You – set them free Lord to be their new selves which they have been created to be by You (Praise You Jesus – You are hearing me)…

I am guilty in my flesh of cunningly endeavouring to get my own way in everything I do (in the flesh)…

I hand this up to You also Lord, we let go…

We let go of having our own way and we trust You to have Yours in us…

    Take over Lord…

    We repent…

    We submit…

We resist the devil (not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord) as You enable us in this place of submission – we do not fight in our own strength (our flesh) to do anything – we wait on You – we trust You – Your will be done in our lives…

    We depend on You…

    You are our life…

    We will live for You…

    And for You alone…

You are not using us – You have never used us…

You have given freely to us and expected nothing in return…

And we have not honoured You as You have deserved to be honoured…

And in Your Sovereignty You have punished us for our sins by causing us to wander in darkness – to see the calamity of our actions before You – to see the uselessness of our ways – we are completely undone and we are useless before You…

    Where is the power?

    Where is the glory?

Where is the display of Your splendour?

We have hidden Your light under a bushel – we (in our flesh) are guilty, guilty of great sin before You but You have covered this sin – all we need to do is confess it – I confess it Lord – we have sinned against You and hated You without a cause – every act of disbelief we commit is an act of rebellion before You – every act of fear we commit is an act of rebellion before You – and I am guilty – I did not protect my wife when she sinned (when she was deceived), I did not partition You for her and cover her – I blamed her and I paid the penalty…

I am sorry Lord and I ask You to forgive me…

I am sorry and I genuinely mean that…

Forgive me Lord, I repent, I repent from my heart and I receive Your forgiveness in practice (in healing) in my life and in my world…

I am sorry for being proud…

For taking the glory to myself…

    I am nothing without You…

    Rule me…

Rule me until I am no more…

    I surrender…

And even in this I see pride…

Rule me Lord until I am no more…

    Yes Lord…

Establish in this world the other-centred relationship which the Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) has which Itself – establish it in me, in my family and in all the families of the world – all who will remain and worship You on that great day…

Worship You Father – bring repentance to this earth – come Holy Spirit and breathe life on these slain – all of us Your Children who need Your practical life lived through us through the power of Your Holy Spirit…

We repent from our dreams, from our aspirations, from our fantasies – we let them go – Your will is what we desire – we repent from following our own wills, our own aspirations and our own desires – fill us with Yours – fill us with Yours – and give me a woman who will agree with this on behalf of Eve for the world – Thank You Lord (I’m smiling) – I know You will – Thank You Lord…

Save this world – save and deliver – get the Glory Lord – all of it – and You will – and You will and You will…
