Never say, “Never”…

A simple thought – never say, “Never” to the Lord…

When the Lord requests something of us or demands something from us, “Give me this”, He might say, we might not be able to give it to Him “then and there” but we must never say, “Never” (as a final answer – it might “come out of us” naturally at the beginning but not as a final answer) to the Lord…

He will always wait – very patiently – for us to “come through” to a “place” of surrender to Him – I honestly believe with all my heart that He waits as long as we are willing to trust Him to “bring us through”…

I speak this to someone I know – I know I am speaking to someone I know – Wait for the Lord – Wait for the Lord – He will bring you through – I know this as I speak – I know I am speaking to someone I know – this is a release for you – wait for the Lord – He is and will be waiting for you…

Back in late October early November last year I was blessed (as I look back) to go on a work conference to Fiji (we went to a resort) and during our spare time the Lord was speaking to me (some of it is blogged here under a post from that time) about my future with Him…

He really “put me on the spot” and “called in” the surrender which I’ve known has been coming ever since I was saved – it was a “turning point” for me – something that stands out…

The breakthrough came where I cried before Him and told Him that I just wasn’t willing and I was so scared that He’d just “leave” – like turn His back and leave – but instead He said, “I will wait for you”…

And that shook me and broke me and then I cried with tears of joy…

I was so broken as I’d been afraid that when I couldn’t “perform” He’d “walk away”…

But no, He showed me that He’d wait…

Later, not long ago, as I biked home from work He reminded me that He’d wait for as long as I was willing to trust Him, i.e. to continue waiting for Him to create the willingness in me to “come up” to whatever surrender He’d set before me…

I am very blessed – very blessed to know this – and I want you to know it too…

God is not standing there with a gun at our heads – my friend needs to hear this – He is not – He will wait for how ever long it takes – He will – but if we harden our hearts and say, “Never” to the Lord – a firm, calculated, “Never” – then He will take us at our word and we will be “stunted” in Him – we will never reach our potential in Him (what He had planned for us – this is very sad – yes, all things work together for good but I know of what I speak and I know that I am speaking the truth)…

We have unlimited patience from God at our disposal if we’re prepared to be patient with Him to create the willingness in us to “come up” to the surrender which He has required of us (or even the willingness or the desire to wait for Him for the willingness to be patient with Him – whatever our “starting point” is – we do – know of what I speak)… 🙂

Please hear me – the willingness is there with God – we do not have a gun at our heads as children of the Living God…

We do not…

Hear me in this – it will set you free…

Our earthly fathers disciplined us as they saw fit (however they were able or even the best that they knew) but our God (our Father) disciplines us for our own good that we may share in His Holiness (i.e. that we may share in a relationship – a closer and closer and closer relationship – with Him who is Holy – that is why He calls us into deeper and deeper and deeper surrender)…

Some surrenders might take years to “come up to”…

But once you “come up to it” you never lose it – because it is – the willingness – created in you by the Holy Spirit – it is Divine – and it is “un-losable”…

Yes, we can stagnate but we can’t “go backwards” from the surrenders which He’s enabled us to achieve in that attitude of waiting – I know what I am saying is true…

Love you,

Andrew

About andrew james horton

Hi, my name is Andrew James Horton... I am a Kiwi (New Zealander), born in Christchurch (05 September 1971), now in my early fifties... I am blessed to be married with five children and six grandchildren... :-) I am at present a Principal Structural Engineer, Director living in Christchurch, New Zealand... I am passionate about prophetic intercession and about revival both in New Zealand and throughout the world... I am passionate to pray that the Church, the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, will be all that He - the Lord Jesus Christ - desires her to be in our generation... Back in early September 2010 I felt that the Lord gave me the name of this blog site, "a house of prayer for the nations - prophetic intercession for worldwide revival" and wanted me to "put it out there" and start recording the prayers which were on my heart to pray in the hope that others would also be encouraged to share the prayers which were on their hearts to pray and that in the unity of the Spirit we could participate together in this activity in different locations around the world as He led us... If the Lord leads you, let's join together in prayer for the Lord's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven in our generation... Love to All, Andrew
