Bearing one another’s burdens…

The Law of Christ…

Leaving you an example that you should follow in His steps…

For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, (1 Peter 1:21 NASB)

This is the purpose for which we have been called – to fulfil the Law of Christ – to follow in His steps – to suffer for each other – to fill up in our own bodies what is lacking in Christ’s suffering for His Body which remains on earth – this is what we have been called for…

This is our purpose on earth…

What an amazing purpose…

What an elevated purpose…

Not really…

It’s pretty humble really…

It’s pretty dirty really…

It’s not that exalted…

It’s pretty meek and lowly…

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. (Matthew 11:29 NASB)

But it does give rest to our souls…

That’s the only thing which does…

Bearing up others’ burdens…

We are not their slaves – but we are their servants for Christ’s sake…

We are not fulfilling their every whim and pleasure but we are seeing what the Lord has for them and holding them up before Him for Him to release it to them…

It brings me great sadness when I feel my brother or my sister’s pain in not being what the Lord would have them to be – even if they are completely oblivious to the fact that this is happening – when I see it – I feel the pain…

I am – and have been feeling a lot of pain recently…

This is a season of transition – transition in the Church…

What will emerge will be an overcoming Church…

What will die will be all the “cling-ons” that have attached themselves to the Church – they are not the Church but have attached themselves to the Church – these will suffer harm and will be removed from the Church…

They have – as one prophetic picture I saw that someone had painted/depicted – attached themselves to the train (wedding gown) of the Bride but the demonic horde who have attached themselves to this train will be cut off with the Sword which is in the Lord’s Hand…

A time of cleansing and setting free is coming to the Bride – the Church – which is His Body…

How?

By each of us “getting underneath” our brothers and sisters – as the Lord leads us – and interceding for them – day and night – without ceasing – to be “set free” – anything we see in their lives we are to intercede over…

Any burden we are given for them we are to discharge…

This is our mandate…

This is the way the Church will be transformed…

And our pain when we do not see them – those we are interceding for – respond – is the pain which Christ bears daily – but He will remove from us all that causes stumbling…

He will – He is our “pain remover”…

Only He – only He – only He…

We are to keep bearing the burdens – this is how we fulfil the Law of Christ – and even in our pain – Jesus was a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief – Jesus will give us rest for our souls…

In our focus on others and the bearing of their burdens we are strangely protected from focusing on ourselves and our “wish lists” from the Lord…
