It’s not the quantity of our lives which matters but the quality…
The Lord’s just shown me that it’s better to “burn out” for Him in complete surrender and be “gunned down” or martyred if so required than to live in a fear of “self protection” and “self preservation”…
Even sometimes we say, I know I’ve thought it, “But Lord, You’ve given me all these promises for my life and if I went out and did that then I might die and then they won’t happen”…
The Lord’s just shown me that I can live in abandon to His will because if it truly is His will then He will surely bring it to pass…
Paul was stoned and left for dead – which is probably when he had his experience in the third heaven – but he got up after that and went back in to the city – nothing can hold us down… 🙂
True martyrs don’t care about their lives – they know that the Lord will raise others up (very good thing to keep in mind – cos it’s all about His Glory not ours)… 🙂
I believe Paul counted it a great priviledge to be stoned for Jesus – he had watched Stephen – that mighty man of God – stoned for his testimony to Jesus – and he had heard what Stephen said, “I see heaven open and Jesus standing at the Right Hand of God”…
He, Paul, would have found it a priviledge to be stoned for Jesus…
And so should we – our joy is in our surrender – moment by moment – to allow the Lord to work in us – not to strive – not to “keep score” but just to allow the Lord to work in us and to wait for Him to do so – if we have this quality of life – then we don’t want to sacrifice it for anything…
A few short days with this quality of life is better than a whole lifetime of “self preservation”…
Love in the Lord,
Andrew
